Reshaping STEM Entrepreneurship: Women-Led Models of Inclusive Innovation

Abstract

This paper highlights that the empowerment of women in the field of AI healthcare is, essentially, a two-fold process which involves their being not only as innovators and providers of inclusive technological solutions, but also as recipients of inclusive healthcare systems. Case studies and literature support the fact that AI startups founded by women are transforming medical care delivery through physician-developed diagnostics, telemedicine, and reproductive health interventions and that AI-enabling technologies and wearables are improving access to personalised and preventive care among women across the globe. Nevertheless, systematic issues are still in place, such as gender inequalities in STEM education, leadership deficiency, cultural biases, and technological obstacles, such as algorithmic prejudice. The principles of fairness, inclusivity, and ethics need to be integrated into the design of AI healthcare to transform it into an environment of real gender justice. The development of gender-conscious AI algorithms, creation of international women-based AI healthcare firms, and policy framework reinforcement with a clear connexion of gender equity with healthcare innovation should be prioritised in future directions. Through these actions combined with global sustainability initiatives, most importantly the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, AI healthcare could be turned into not only a technological revolution, but also a source of increasing female empowerment and more inclusive health provisions to all.
